Tickets available on MUSICANDMINDS.ORG or EVENTBRITE

Described as a “spectacle to match the New York Philharmonic,

“Serene’s magnetic performances cannot be truly appreciated without seeing them in person.”

Serene’s journey and trajectory as a concert pianist is almost as captivating as her prowess playing the piano. She has rapidly emerged as a dynamic and influential figure in the classical music world, showcasing her versatility and innovative spirit across diverse musical landscapes.

Her repertoire spans from interpreting Rachmaninoff's masterpieces at the prestigious Vienna Konzerthaus to composing avant-garde cyberpunk pieces for the Academy Museum. Serene's artistic vision extends beyond traditional boundaries, as evidenced by her groundbreaking work programming and performing alongside robots at fusion energy facilities. Her collaborative prowess is further demonstrated through high-profile partnerships with contemporary music icons like Grimes and Kanye West. In a remarkably short time, Serene has not only established herself as a formidable creative force but has also become a beacon of inspiration for the next generation of classical musicians and listeners, bridging the gap between classical traditions and cutting-edge musical exploration.

Inside a Fusion Startup's Insane, Top-Secret Opening Ceremony

To celebrate the opening of a new fusion energy facility in the SF Bay Area by Fuse, SERENE presents a live performance merging past and future:
a piano concert with robot musicians, EMG / bio-feedback, and more...

Serene often enjoys combining her background as a technologist / computer scientist into her concerts. Courtesy of Fuse, Serene was asked to present a unique performance for the "vault opening" of their new facility.

So here we have a one of a kind live performance; and the world's first piano concert with industrial robot arms.

Refactoring the classics with real sci-fi, bringing a Robot Orchestra to life, and more, in collaboration with Finis Musicae, with robot arms provided by UC Berkeley.

The program involved Ravel, Purcell, Liszt, Arvo Pärt, Ligeti, and a fully improvized session with exotic instruments for the finale with Jaron Lanier.

Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 ft. Grimes AI

Technical Elements

For the Rachmaninoff Concerto, SERENE prepared a modified rendition; the orchestral parts were largely live-generated electronically using AI music techniques; and some also covered by augmenting the solo piano part.

In addition, this was one of the first uses of the Grimes AI vocals, in which many the orchestral melodic lines were generated using her Voice. At the same time, Grimes wore the EEG from Neurosity, while interacting with the tech visuals which also reacted to her brainwaves while listening to Serene's piano performance.
