Through historical images, artifacts, and text, the Bolinas Museum history room brings the story of Bolinas to life. In the 1850s, when Bolinas was a small settlement of loggers, sawmill workers, and homesteading ranch families, local settlers prioritized education for both boys and girls. This featured exhibit highlights some of Bolinas-Stinson Union School’s more than 160-year history. Since its founding, the Bolinas Museum has welcomed school groups from the local area as well as from the wider Bay Area. This exhibit includes a colorful collection of photos spanning decades of these school visits.
